Yankees can't spell

In their mad rush to cover up their dubious arguments for stealing public parkland for a new stadium, the richest sports franchise in the nation neglected to spell-check the "slick brochures" that they paid some teenagers to pass out to our residents. (See our Feb 25 blog entry.) This story is indicative of their mindset.

We will soon dissect all of their fanciful claims. Here's a preview of one of their statements: "The new Yankee Stadium plan means approximately 7,000 new construction jobs and approximately 1,000 permanent jobs."

Somehow the jobs fallacy gets bigger and bigger. If only Randy Levine had a brain and George Steinbrenner had a heart.
